Alphonzo Hicks, baritone, received his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from UC-Irvine. He has performed in workshops and master classes with conductor and composer Robert Shaw, soprano Sylvia McNair and baritone Rodney Gilfry. His opera performances include King Balthazar in Menotti's Amal and the Night Visitors and Zuniga in Bizet's Carmen. He has most recently performed with LA Opera chorus in Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, Verdi's Aida and Wagner's The Flying Dutchman. Alphonzo's oratorio performances include Mozart's Requiem, Rene Clausen's A New Creation, Faure's Requiem and Handel's Messiah. Currently, Alphonzo is preparing for Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. |
